Story
Why we say it twice.
Buono is Italian for good. Good to eat, good to be around. We tried the name once and it sounded like a pasta place. Twice, it sounded like someone at a counter telling you the chatpate is ready. So, twice.
What we are
Buono Buono is a small counter on Gahana Pokhari Road. Two of us run it. We make chiya, pani puri, chatpate, five cold-pressed juices, a wrap, a fruit bowl, and we spin cotton candy in the window because nobody has ever been in a bad mood holding cotton candy.
Everything is made after you order it. That is the whole trick. It is why the pani puri is crisp and the juice tastes like the fruit it was ten minutes ago.
What we are not
We are not a health food shop. Some of what we sell is fruit and vegetables; some of it is sugar on a stick. We are not going to tell you a juice will fix your liver. We will tell you what is in it, and you can decide.
Why Naxal
Because this is where we drink our own chiya. The office crowd in the morning, the school crowd at four, the Bhat-Bhateni bags at seven. It felt like a street that needed one more good corner.
Come by. Bring someone. Say how spicy.
